Close to shops with the tube across the road, on a quiet street, and very handy for commuting into the city. Stepney Green is also nearby.
A supportive landlord who helped an overseas student through difficulties with other tenants and kept her and her father informed, though she didn't handle the check-out personally.
Good neighbourhood, though bars and nightlife require a short trip. Well connected for transport with a tube station two minutes away, plus plenty of supermarkets and a market nearby.
In a small three-bed with one bathroom shared by four, the landlady kept arranging viewings with couples despite requests to stop. A previous tenant lost her deposit over disguised home improvements, and after only five months tenants were charged £30 to varnish an untreated surface they were never warned about.
Recently decorated with nice modern decor, but not done professionally: sinks drain poorly, the kitchen sink sealant is failing with untreated wood swelling, and cupboards are full of the landlord's leftover materials. There is no stair banister (a safety hazard) and no kitchen door, creating a fire risk and noise.
