The landlord, Alex, became physically threatening, prompting a police report for antisocial behaviour, and was controlling, aggressive and bullying. The contract banned opening windows between October and March, and he made comments about nationalities that felt uncomfortable. The tenant felt harassed and unsafe and had to leave.
The house seemed fine at viewing but, in the tenant's opinion, was in poor condition on move-in, with marks, scuffs, rips, and some broken furniture. Personal items and construction tools left in communal areas posed a trip hazard.
